Doctor, Doctor

Where does one find inexpensive health care in Miami? For the uninsured–but willing to pay for a doctor’s visit–it seems you have to be on the verge of death and therefore in need of a hospital emergency room. Otherwise, doctors don’t have the time.

An early morning visit to the county clinic in Miami Beach was, shall we say, discouraging–lines out the door. But at least there are doctors in there, if you have time…to wait all day.

Other states have multitudes of low-cost health clinics. What about Florida? What about Miami? Are they here?

Great question. The clinic in Miami Beach is a salvation for many locals.

I hope some of the Miami Metroblogging readers have suggestions on where to find inexpensive healthcare.
