Last night- just before the New Year’s resolutions kick in- I took a brief foray around the nightlife districts – at least the ones that I didn’t have to pay $20 to park. Since I was on my own, I mostly observed from my car. Space seemed to be the most promising from the outside . The country’s hottest dance club had huge crowds outside – and they stay open till 2 the next afternoon on weekends. My most pleasant surprise was the new Segafredo on Miami and 14th, right next door to Novecento. The crowd was great – and big, but not overcrowded. Good music and large reasonably priced ( well, a little pricey ) drinks unlike Novecento’s tiny expensive drinks. It would be great if Miami Metroblogging could have a real nightlife reporter – my work schedule generally does not permit going out till 5 AM several nights a week. Ocean Drive is closed to vehicular traffic through New Year’s Day. Come down to watch the fireworks tonight, and leave the car at home !
