Well… here it is… my first Metroblog. I’ve been thinking that maybe for my first post I should keep things simple… kind of a hello / how are you? question and answer process. I know we’re supposed to write a bio but bio’s are so pretentious… I think mine says something like “professional idiot and obnoxious fool”.

A sneak peek over the high wall to The Donald’s house in Palm Beach this past weekend. Purchased for $5 million in 1984, it is now a private club for anyone with $200,000 to join. Beach cabanas start at $1000 a day. Mr. Trump and his latest wife and child spend many winter weekends there.

This has been a very dry dry season, even with the occasional showers that pass by. Right now there are Phase One water restrictions - watering and washing of cars only on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday for even numbered houses and Saturday, Monday and Wednesday for odd numbered houses - and only between 4 and 7 AM. As I write this there is a huge downpour outside, so the grass should look greener in the morning.

We also passed Fisher Island. In order to get here, by ferry or personal yacht, you must be a resident or a guest. Houses and incomes are all in the millions.
