ICON Brickell

We all love “Miami Modern” architecture, otherwise known as “MiMo”–only in Miami can you get away with some of the whacked-out buildings that unapologetically line our streets. But is there a point when things get too far?

ICON Brickell, the now-infamous condo development south of Downtown, has sold over $1 billion dollars worth of units, drawing in residents with amenities including deluxe custom bathrooms, imported marble floors, and concierge service to rival that of The Setai or The Tides. While it’s an impressive feat for an impressive construction project (and there are still a few units left!), perhaps its most noteworthy element isn’t in the building, but outside in the porte-cochere:

It should be noted the lobby bears a striking resemblance to the monolithic mysteries of Easter Island:
