Government Cut Tunnel
Trade at the Port of Miami is growing as fast as the Downtown skyscrapers . The result – total gridlock for container trucks entering the Port bridge from Biscayne Blvd. and 195. Now – a plan to build a tunnel from the Port to Watson Island would alleviate some of that traffic. Or would it just shift the whole mass of trucks into already very high volume of traffic departing Miami Beach ? These are issues that will hopefully be studied before the first excavation begins.

the whole transpo system here in Miami is a mess. you think that with all this expansion they would invest on improving instead of simply diverting or averting our problems temporarily. at least get some studies going to try to find solutions to this, I mean, we have two universities in town with willing and able students who can churn some of their gray matter to this beat.
I guess they can at least make that part of downtown feel more pleasant, and who knows, maybe they’ll get that done by the time the MPAC is inaugurated.
